Molly reports on the press conference
The press conference yesterday was a great success. Once again, we were able to show just how unique our coalition is; we had speakers from the Caribbean, Bolivia, Portugal, Germany and the United Stateson the panel. Each speaker was able to relate the HIV/AIDS crisis to larger themes of church reform and sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as give a regional or national face to the issue.
We had radio, television and print reporters at the press conference. People are interested in our message and we're eager to share it. Last night we all shared a traditional German meal at the Old Catholic Church. On the way to dinner, we passed out stickers and postcards onthe metro. Everyone was so supportive and really liked the materials. A few of us had a conversation with a man from Africa, who asked about the campaign and told us he would tell people at home what we we're doing here in Germany.
We have received so much support from people on the streets, colleagues, members of the press and politicians. People realize how important this message is and it's awesome to see so many people want to be a part of Condoms4Life and World Youth Day 4 All.
